Legacy and Longevity

Collectively, I have been married for over 30 years. Most think that is admirable, until I tell them it has not been to the same person and in fact, there have been three! Most people go into marriages thinking this is the person that I am going to spend the rest of my life with and grow old together until the very end. That is how we all should go into our marriage. But if you look around or even within, it does not always happen that way. Death and divorce, interrupts those dreams. I know. I have experienced them both in this journey called life. It's not something I would wish on anyone. Even though these 30 years have not come the traditional way, I believe there are lessons learned and a legacy of value to be shared and passed on to others both now and generations to come. Why is that? Because, I believe we serve a God who does not waste a tear and because God's blessings in His creation of marriage does not rise and fall on my experiences. No. It all hinges on the truth of God's word, the Bible. Am I thankful for every experience over the last 30 years? No and I would be lying if I said different. But I am grateful to a God who has been with me through the triumphs and the tragedies and I am thankful for where I am now.

And where is that you might ask? Full of hope, exactly where I was over 30 years ago!!!
